Bath Phil awarded Resonate funding from the PRS Foundation

Dec 12, 2017

Today it was announced that Bath Phill is one of six orchestras to have been awarded #Resonate funding from the PRS Foundation, BBC Radio 3, Association of British Orchestras and Boltini Trust for the performance of The Green Ray by Gavin Bryars in our concert with Jess Gillam on 19th April 2018.

This funding will enable us to invite local schools to sit alongisde the orchestra in rehearsals and take part in an interactive workshop on this exciting piece. We are thrilled to be joined by Jess Gillam for these workshops, further inspiring the students and bringing the work to life.

Resonate is a new fund and resource which encourages professional orchestras to programme into their repertoire the best pieces of British music from the past 25 years. Resonate aims to inspire more performances, recordings and broadcasts of outstanding contemporary repertoire, as chosen by UK orchestras, whilst strengthening approaches to programming this music for the benefit of audiences, composers and players in the UK and overseas.
