About the Event
“Mr Grosvenor makes you sigh with joy and commands the stage with aristocratic ease”
The New York Times
A playful and cheery musical evening that combines unbridled joy, happiness, tomfoolery, passion, sophistication, and intrigue. Beethoven’s 8th symphony is a joyous and energetic miniature, distilled with power, passion as well as a few musical jokes. Stravinsky’s Pulcinella is a neo-classical musical description of the sophisticated and stately Georgian period, whilst the orchestral textures of Jonathan Dove’s Sunshine both dazzle and delights. The passion and virtuosity of Felix Mendelssohn’s seldom heard first piano concerto is matched by his sister Fanny Mendelssohn’s wildly romantic Overture. International renowned concert pianist, Benjamin Grosvenor joins Bath Philharmonia. Benjamin has played with all the major symphony orchestras in this country and many around the world, in the greatest venues with the most renowned conductors.
